The Fireflies have been learning about weather during Science. We learned scientists use wind socks as a tool to measure wind direction and speed. We had a great time constructing our own versions of wind socks and trying them out to understand better how they work! The Fireflies celebrated our excellent behavior during the 2nd 9 Weeks with a Snow Cone and Gaga Ball Party on January 5th! The Fireflies celebrated the start of the Winter Break with Holidays Around the World Rotations and a class party. Special Thanks to Mrs. Langsam, Alysha, and Mrs., Kabaca for helping out with the festivities. A good time was had by all! The fireflies had a spooky good time visiting all the 1st grade Witches for some Halloween fun! Special thanks to our moms who came to help out! The Fireflies have come to school decked out for several dress up days in the last 2 weeks. The Fireflies celebrated the end of the 1st 9 Weeks at the PBIS Celebration on October 13th. A scientist demonstrated how magic is really just science and did some amazing experiments. Maybe we will become scientists one day! A few of the Fireflies wore their best western duds to celebrate the beginning of the Fort Bend County Fair!
The Fireflies enjoyed having lunch with their special loved ones as Austin Elementary celebrated Grandparent's Day on Friday, September 8th. I was able to catch a few of their smiling faces! The task was to build a tower out of cups, with the cups in order by 10's. Challenge accomplished! |
